AutoBrowser is a AI-powered Chrome extension tool for automating your browser. The application is built around the Claude 3.5 computer use API. Once instructed, the AI carries out activities such as clicking and typing on the user's behalf, thereby providing a hands-off browsing experience. However, being a relatively new technology, errors and occasional inaccurate activity may occur so it is advised to monitor and supervise AI actions on AutoBrowser. Therefore, it may not be reliable for important tasks yet. It's a free-to-use tool but charges are applied for AI usage, which users can cover through their own Anthropic API key or by purchasing credits. These credits are billed at 1.3 times the actual cost of AI usage. Although an interesting experiment, AutoBrowser might not yet be a cost-effective solution for real-world applications and is not reliable enough for tasks such as answering emails or filing taxes. For more reliable browser automation solutions, the developers suggest alternatives such as Browserflow and Browserbot.
